Haiku: Within the Circle
This Haiku is the start of a longer poem I am currently working on about Witch Circles, but I think it can stand on is own as well.
within the circle
we are together and safe
a holy union

This haiku came to me, when first my son couldn’t sleep and, after he crawled into my bed and fell asleep, I was wide awake. So I stared at the moon for some time and wrote this Haiku.
drawing the moon
into the depth of my soul
in a sleepless night
dark moon lost in the sky
waning, till she is invisible
quiet night surrounds me
I curl up in the darkness
welcoming my shadows
I do not fear any longer
what holds me now
is this sort of hope
for a new moon
This is from a prompt from the lovely Kate Belew!
